Some of you may remember that one of my main reasons to start this blog was because I wanted to be held accountable. I have a tendency to start so many projects and just give up in the middle, or before reaching the end. I know I’m not alone… right?
That’s why a few weeks ago I posted a list of goals I want to accomplish this year. And every month, I plan on updating you, dear readers, on my progress. No hiding! I shall expose my shame (or pride!) for all the world to see!
Ready? Let’s go!
1. Create a successful blog
This is still a work in progress, but I’m proud to say that I’ve posted at least once a week since launching this little blog. In the past few weeks, I’ve also been more active on Instagram and my plan for March is to increase my Facebook presence. I’m hoping this will attract more readers that I can then bedazzle with my wits and amazing content 😉
I will also try to post here more often, as I know that’s what will really get me going. It’s hard, you guys! I do have a full-time job… but I promise I will do my best to succeed! Oh, and I’m going to look into how Pinterest could help me… I’ll let you know what I find.
2. Learn my lines
I’m glad to report progress here, too. To help me reach this goal, I created a spread in my beloved bullet journal.
As you can see, it’s not perfect yet, but I’m getting there!
* Don’t know what a bullet journal is?
My post The Bullet Journal – Why I Use It & Why It Works will explain everything!*
3. Write a novel
Ugh. That’s one goal I’m not even close to finishing. I did write a few pages in February, but definitely not enough. I need to come up with some kind of tracker to motivate me and keep me going… Stay tuned!
4. Read 40 books
I’m not at 40 books just yet, ha! But as I wrote in my Goodreads and my 2017 Reading Challenge post, I’m well on my way. I’m happy to say that I’ve now read eight books and Goodreads’ app is telling me that I’m two books ahead of schedule. Oh yeah! Go me!
5. Clean and organize my office
Guys. I had cleaned and organized (okay, shuffled everything in the back of my desk drawer…). I did. I swear. But then life happened and I had to go dig for some serious business paper. And now it’s a mess all over again. Also, I feel like cleaning it will kind of be a waste of time because…
6. Buy a house
Yes! Folks, it’s official, I’m a homeowner now! OMG, it feels so weird to write that! But it’s true! I’m planning on writing a couple of posts about the whole process and how my boyfriend and I made it happen, but YES! This huge goal, the biggest on my list this year (and probably EVER) is happening. I’m so excited, I can’t even tell you! Moving day is soooooon, in a little more than six weeks, so I’m going to be a pretty busy lady until then.
7. Get more active
Mmm. That one is a so-so. As a part of my Miracle Morning routine (I swear, a post about this is coming), I do have to move. I’ve been good and did 15 minutes of yoga almost every day in February, sometimes even more. But let’s be honest, it’s not that quarter of an hour that will really get me into shape. It’s a start. I’ll look at it that way.
So, there you have it. I’m pretty amazed at how things are progressing, some of them much faster than I thought. I’m very proud of the improvement on 5 out of 7 goals, that’s good! I will keep on keepin’ on and will give you another update at the beginning of April.
What are your goals for 2017? Are you happy with your progress so far? How do you motivate yourself to do what needs to be done? Let me know in the comments below, on Facebook, or on Instagram!
Until next time, Jammies!
