You guys! My little blog has been nominated for a Liebster Award! I can’t even begin to tell you how happy this makes me!
You know, when I started this, I was inspired by other wonderful bloggers. I love reading what they share and I’ve learned so much from them. I was hoping (and still am) that my blog could do the same.
Over the past months, I’ve sometimes been discouraged though, thinking that nobody read what I wrote so what was the point, right? I compared myself with more successful bloggers… which was a very bad idea.
Eventually, I just reached a point where I realized that I love to write. I love to share what’s going on in my life. So, even if I only have a handful of readers, who cares? The important thing is that it makes me happy to keep this little blog running. I don’t have a following as big as some people out there, but I’m telling myself that I’ll slowly but surely make my way and leave my mark on this beautiful community, as long as I keep sharing from the heart.
That’s why I was thrilled to receive a message from the lovely Andi. Her blog, Cultivating Our Home, is a joy to read. She shares about her homesteading journey and how she’s creating a simpler life for her and her family. And we both want chickens, so that automatically makes me love her even more 😉
So, what exactly is the Liebster Award? Well, according to The Global Aussie, it’s “an award that exists only on the internet, and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.” When I received Andi’s message letting me know that she loves my website, it made my day. I can’t thank her enough.
According to the rules, I’m now supposed to list 10 facts about me. But since I posted a similar list just a few weeks ago, I’m going to skip this step and answer the same questions that Andi answered in her nomination post. Here goes!
1. Where are you from?
I was born in the northern suburbs of Montreal, in Quebec, Canada. So yes, I speak French. I’ve lived there most of my life, but I recently moved to the country. I now live just outside a small village of 4,000 souls, an hour and a half from Montreal. I could not be happier about it!
2. What’s your favorite meal?
I looooooove sushi. I can eat it until my stomach is close to bursting. And I have to admit that I’m a huge fan of poutine (french fries with cheese curds and gravy), a traditional junk food here. It’s awesome, but really not healthy so it’s been a struggle to stay away from it since I started my weightloss and fitness journey.
3. What do you hope to get from your blog?
If I’m being honest, at the beginning, I was hoping I could have a very successful blog that would earn me all the money. But as the months have gone by, as I said earlier, I just realized how much I’m having fun writing about my life and how I’m trying to improve it. So, my goal is to keep having fun and it will be a bonus if, along the way, I can inspire others to live a better life.
4. Money or Fame?
When I was younger, I would have said fame, but I guess I’d have to say money, now. I don’t really seek fame. And I don’t wish to be immensely rich either. I’m just hoping to have enough so I can be comfortable, renovate my house to my liking and afford to travel more often.
5. What is one thing you regret?
Oh, that is a tough one. I regret many things, unfortunately. But I think one of the things I regret the most is not going to one of my aunt’s religious funeral service, because I was in a “F**K the Catholic Church!” phase… I was young. I should’ve been there for my uncle. And I loved her. I’m hoping she’s forgiven me from wherever she is now.
Whoa, that was deep, guys! Anyways, now it’s time for me to nominate five other blogs:
These women have beautiful and inspiring blogs, you should definitely check them out and give them some love.
Ladies, it’s now your turn to share the Liebster Award and help us discover the blogs you’re inspired by! And don’t forget to answer my questions:
- If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
- Name one thing you’ve learned on your blogging journey.
- Is there a book you’ve read many times? If so, which one is it and why do you love it?
- How do you manage to live a balanced life?
- What’s on your playlist?
Until next time,
